Online Business Made Easy with Affiliate Programs

March 4th, 2008

If you have been longing to start a business online you may be
coming across terms you’ve never heard before. You may also have
found the opportunities available are overwhelming. Where do you
begin?

AFFILIATE PROGRAMS - EASY START

Affiliate programs may be the easiest online business to start
running. Why?

With any online business you must have a product or service to
sell. First you must create this product or service and then you
must be able to fill orders.

Selling your own product or service also means creating a
website, learning how to write ad copy, setting up a marketing
plan, being able to accept payments online and obviously doing
the work. If you’re selling a physical product then you will need
to make or buy the item, package it and pay for shipping costs.
If you provide a service than you will likely have to start by
doing free jobs to build your credibility and then when you are
charging for your service you are still limited by how much work
you can actually handle.

THE MAGIC OF AFFILIATE PROGRAMS

Affiliate programs are a great way to get started in an online
business. In fact there are even some ‘Super Affiliates’ who are
making fabulous incomes from affiliate programs. So, what ARE
affiliate programs?

Affiliate programs allow you to sell another company’s service or
product and make a commission on every sale or lead. You do not
even need to build a website or handle the transaction. Your job
is to drive traffic (customers) to your affiliate link.

An affiliate link is a special URL code that will identify
customers coming to the company’s site from your advertising. It
will likely be the website address with a code attached to the
end.

Some affiliate programs also have tiers. That means if someone
who is interested in SELLING the product comes through your link
and signs up you will also get a small percentage of THEIR
earnings.

HOW DO I CHOOSE A PROGRAM?

You should research the popularity of some of your interests. Try
to determine if people are buying that product or service online.
There are many sources for finding that information including
free ones such as the Overture keyword tool.

When you have found an area that is popular then type the subject
along with ‘affiliate program’ into your search engine and see
which programs have services or products for that area. You can
also use an affiliate program directory.

When you have found a program that looks interesting you should
read the terms of the program. Make sure that payouts are not
based on a high commission earning or you may never see your
money. Also try to choose programs with high commission rates.
Often you will find ebooks and downloadable software has the
highest rates as there is no physical product to make or ship. If
you are satisfied with the terms then you need to sign up -
usually a simple process.

START MARKETING

The reason affiliate programs are so great for beginners is that
you only need to focus on marketing - not making - your product.

Many affiliate programs have information on how to market and
give you tools such as banners, product feeds and more. You can
also look for other information on marketing including writing
articles, creating pay-per-click campaigns, commenting in online
forums etc. As you gain experience marketing you will make
adjustments to your selling and start creating a wonderful
income!

Love - The New Business Secret Weapon

February 26th, 2008

“Any business arrangement that is not profitable to the other person will in the end prove unprofitable for you. The bargain that yields mutual satisfaction is the only one that is apt to be repeated.” — B.C. Forbes, founder of Forbes magazine

For some reason many businesses seem to be designed to leave customers with a bad taste in their mouths. It might be from indifferent service, mediocre merchandise, or from the feeling by the customer that they were in some way short changed on the deal.

Some businesses act this way and then wonder why they don’t get referrals. Most businesses that act this way don’t even think about referrals; they just worry about getting the next sucker in the door. This qualifies as brain-dead stupidity, since any marketer will tell you that the cost to acquire a new customer is much higher than the cost to get more business from an existing one.

The same holds true in your relationships, by the way. It is easier to develop and maintain a good relationship with your spouse or your kids than it is to win it back (or break in a new one) after you’ve screwed it up.

In “The Science of Getting Rich” Wallace Wattles introduces the concept of “use value” in our transactions. He says, “Give every person more in use value than you take from them in cash value.” What he means by this is that you give more VALUE than they expect, and they feel that they got a great deal. Guess what - there are three recent business books that hit strongly on this theme with an interesting twist. They advocate a different kind of use value - love.

Yup, you heard me right. Love.

“But Wes, ” I hear someone whining, “isn’t that getting pretty hokey and touchy-feely? I’m running a business, after all.” Yes, it’s pretty touchy-feely, but as Harv Eker would say, “Do you want to be touchy-feely or do you want to stay broke?”

Let’s look at these three books, all by certified business experts. The first to come out was by Yahoo senior executive Tim Sanders with his book, “Love Is The Killer App” in which he said:

“The most powerful force in business isn’t greed, fear, or even the raw energy of unbridled competition. The most powerful force in business is love. It’s what will help your company grow and become stronger. It’s what will propel your career forward. It’s what will give you a sense of meaning and satisfaction in your work, which will help you do your best work.”

Hmmm - grow our company and our career, give us meaning and satisfaction - maybe there’s something to this love stuff.

The next book is “The Radical Leap” by Steve Farber, former VP of the Tom Peters Company, in which he says:

“Love is the ultimate motivation of the Extreme Leader; love of something or someone; love of a cause; love of a principle; love of the people you work with and the customers you serve; love of the future that you and yours can create together; love of the business you conduct together every day. Think about it……….Without the calling and commitment of your heart, there’s no good reason for you to take a stand, to take a risk, to do what it takes to change your world for the better.”

Ah, so here we see that love isn’t something we do for others, it’s something that powers us! It’s associated with a higher purpose for the business, a sense of mission and desire to make a lasting impact. It makes us passionate about our work.

The third book is “Lovemarks: The Future Beyond Brands” by international advertising company CEO Kevin Roberts, in which he said:

“..it’s not a touchy-feeling concept: companies that make deep emotional connections with their customers create ‘loyalty beyond reason’ and have no problems retaining clients over a lifetime….It’s the only thing that differentiates companies.”

Wow! So here’s a way to create massive “use value” for our customers - build deep emotional connections that show we really care about them, and not just their orders. It creates “loyalty beyond reason”, Roberts says. Would that be good? The side benefit, if you can call anything this important a side benefit, is that running a company this way inspires and empowers us at a deep level. It changes the office atmosphere, it adds meaning to the work day.

I’ve never been real big on following popular trends, but this is a trend I can really get enthused about. It starts in us, spreads to our coworkers and then to our customers. When we do this, Wallace Wattles says, “you are adding to the life of the world with every business transaction.” And becoming wildly successful in the process.

Yes, that would be good.

Build Your Internet Business For Success

January 22nd, 2008

It has arrived! Millions of people are tapping into the internet era to do business; some are even generating good earning and live by it. If you are looking to kick off your internet home business, well, you’ll need to build a website that would entice and secure your visitors’ loyalty, turn them into paying customers and keep coming back. Good understanding of what works and what’s not will help you build a lucrative income generating internet home business.

Researches show the most critical area is the fact that you have only 10 seconds or less to quickly grab your visitor’s attention, and make them wanting to stay on your site longer. This should be the root factor in designing your internet business website unless you are simply doing for fun or leisure where you are not looking to earn money from it.

For you internet based business, you need to have a clear understanding as to the fact that you are not simply just selling some product, but you are consuming people time! This is one of the most forgotten issues. In actual fact, visitors are allocating their time to you when they are viewing your website. So make sure your site do what it is expected in return for their precious time.

Once you have a website that’s able to draw customer’s interest into paying customer for your internet based business, you then need to further structure up the process so that you got the final “Yes” click thru. Whether the desired click is the “Order” or “Subscribe Now” button, you would definitely want to lead your customer to that perform that action. In order to get to that goal, start creating the website from customers or visitors view point. In this aspect, your view point as seller does not count. It is really up to the visitor’s decision whether or not they would like to award you with business.

When you build and create website for your internet business, you are actually creating an environment that provides the kind of expected benefits for the visitors when they drop by the site. They need to be clearly shown that your business website is able to provide for what they are looking for.

Commonly, customers want to avoid risk, save money, get tools that help them and more. In that aspect, your business website need to show visitors what is in it for them when they arrive at your site. In return, they will become your paying customer when they are satisfied with the service your business able to offer.

The key point in building up your internet business, and effective money generating business website is to know who are your potential consumers, or will be; to clearly understand their needs, and turn them into loyal and paying customers who provide the basis of your business survival, let alone thriving.

Do spend time to do researches in order to find out more information about your targeted potential customer; in fact the more detailed the better. You need to know clearly of what types of people will be patronizing your internet business, what they like to have…etc.

The more you know and understand about your potential customers, the more you are to focus in building your business website to cater for their needs, thus the more successful your business as it goes in the long run.

Ad Tracking Is A Must To The Affiliate Marketer.

January 4th, 2008

There is a lot of money in affiliate marketing. This is true,
only to those who are serious and working hard on their
affiliate program. Affiliate marketing success varies in every
individual affiliate and, it depends on their will and
perseverance. No matter how good an affiliate program is, it
will not prosper if you do not pay the price of hard work. You
must put in extra effort especially in your promotions. Nothing
will happen if your site dosn’t get any traffic, you must be
able to convince your visitors to click the links and proceed to
buy the products. No click-throughs means no income for an
affiliate marketer.

You can generate a full-time income with affiliate marketing and
you can do it at home, even while you sleep. You must have a
good web site. It must have good promotional and informative
contents, pleasing design, inviting banner ads and all other
important elements in an affiliate marketer’s web site. You
should use some other means of advertising such as newsletters,
email marketing, message boards and ppc such as Google AdWords.
It can be easy if you plan your course of action well and have
taken all the steps towards success carefully and diligently.
Now, there’s a tool you can and should use to help you go
through the program with ease and confidence, the Ad Tracker.
For many experienced and successful marketers, the Ad Tracker is
a key to successful affiliate marketing. So what is an ad
tracker? It is tracking software or program that allows you to
trace and take note of every click-through made by visitors of
your site and by other customers who got your referral link.
There are ad tracking service providers as well, so you will
just have to pay them to do the tracking for you. If you use an
ad tracker, you can keep an eye on the progress of your
marketing and advertising campaigns even offline. This tool is
especially helpful if you are engaged in several affiliate and
pay-per-click programs and have placed ads in emails, pop-ups
and pop-unders, message boards, auto responders, Ezines, forums,
several web sites, surveys and various ad service providers.

As such, you don’t want all your efforts and money to be put to
waste so you want to be sure you are getting paid for your hard
work. Likewise, you want to make sure every dollar you disburse
in your advertising campaigns is not wasted. With the help of
the ad tracker, you will know exactly how many and which of your
links where clicked on, how many clicked on your links, how many
of your emails were opened and how many of those who opened your
email clicked through the business site and purchased a product,
how many products were purchased, which of your banner ads or
links brought the most leads and sales and many other facts and
figures you need.

Sales records and all the data you collect is necessary in any
business as this could determine if your affiliate program is
worth continuing. This would also help you determine which of
your marketing strategies is most effective and which is most
beneficial for each product or service you are promoting.

Every decision you make must be supported by facts. That
decision may not be the best, but it is something not to regret
when you had valid reasons for coming up with that decision. You
cannot just decide to quite your affiliate program, just because
you don’t earn big immediately.

If you’re serious about affiliate marketing, keep in mind that
your success lies on promotion and your hard work. If you don’t
seem lucky enough to convince many of your site users to buy the
products, don’t get discouraged and think your affiliate program
is a failure. If it works for others, it should work for you.
Know whether your advertising techniques are effective or not,
which works best and which doesn’t. Get an ad tracker to track
everything and you’ll surely be on the right track towards
success.

Calgary Web Design

December 25th, 2007

Since I’m a web developer ( http://www.illusivecreations.com ),
I have a tendency to think everyone understands that having a
website is important. Every once in a while, I have to remind
myself that some people just haven’t heard yet!

Why is having a website such a big deal? Here are 6 reasons:

A website increases your credibility. Your website has a
powerful impact on a potential customer’s confidence in you. A
professional design, well-written copy, helpful product
information, and good contact info can tremendously increase
trust in your company. It lets people know you’re knowledgeable
and up-to-date. If you take the time to develop a good-quality
site with helpful information, visitors will have no choice but
to be impressed. A website makes your company visible anytime,
anywhere. As of September 2002, there are roughly 605.60 million
people online world-wide. Some of them are looking for your
products and services. With a website, you open yourself up to a
world of opportunity in reaching people who might not otherwise
find you. With the click of a mouse, anyone can get to your
company’s website 24/7. A website makes it easy for people to
refer new customers to you. For many businesses, referrals are a
crucial source of new customers. Having a website makes it easy
to encourage referrals, because customers can simply send
friends and business contacts to your site. Website addresses
are easier to remember than phone numbers. Plus, giving people
multiple ways of contacting you makes it more likely that they
will do so. A website is a powerful sales tool. Selling your
products through an online store is often a killer way to expand
your business. You have a perpetual, easily-accessed
storefront–one that costs a fraction of a brick and mortar
store and can reach many more people. Effective sales copy can
do an incredible job of hooking visitors on your products and
compelling them to click that “buy” button.

Even if you can’t sell your services directly over the internet,
a website is still a powerful asset. It’s a primer that you use
to convince visitors of why they need your services. You get
them salivating to buy, then invite them to contact you through
your site. A website increases the value of your advertising.
Adding your website address to all your advertisements, business
cards, and company literature is a great way to draw potential
customers to your company. Providing a website gives people a
way to act on your message whenever they hear about you or see
an ad for your company. Going to a website is easier than
writing, visiting a store, or even making a phone call.
Customers get the information at their convenience and don’t
have to wait for a salesperson to help them. Also, it’s often
more comfortable to visit a website, because there is no
obligation. Visitors don’t feel pressured. A website helps you
stay in contact with potential customers. There are frequently
people who are interested in what you have to offer, but they
might not be ready to buy right now. You need to stay in contact
with them so that you immediately come to mind when they ARE
ready. A website is a great way to facilitate this. You can use
your website to collect email addresses from visitors. Then you
can periodically send out promotional emails or a newsletter.
Staying in contact keeps your company fresh in visitors’ minds.
Well, there you have it — 6 ways a website benefits your
company and helps you sell more. Do you want to leave this
opportunity to your competitors? Surely not! Each day you wait,
you’re letting them establish themselves online as THE resource
in your field. Stop giving them that advantage!

Web Ecommerce: Where To Begin?

December 12th, 2007

In web ecommerce, you are going to find a wealth of information about what it is and what it can do for you within minutes of looking on the web. The problem with this is, it is hard to sort out the good from the bad and the worthless from the maybe-worth-something options. Relying on the bad stuff will leave you broke and everyone is in search of the best options to make them a ton. So, where do you begin when it comes to web ecommerce?

In order to help you get started with web ecommerce, here are some of the things that anyone on the web selling can do to make their business more profitable and more potentially interesting to their buyers.

• Provide quality and something that is user friendly to the client. If you want to sell, you need to convince them that you have something that is better than what is out there or something that isn’t out there at all. You need to provide for them a good experience as well.

• Sales and promotions work as they would in the retail setting of a store. To get people in and buying, offering incentives can definitely help.

• Provide a great looking website for them to visit. Make sure that it is user friendly and that it is easy to navigate as well. Things like photos and graphics that are exciting and appealing are great tools to use as well.

• You can also do well by offering things like chat rooms and blogs that keep up the readership to your website. Allow them to play a role like this and they will likely book mark you and come back for more web ecommerce action!

Web Ecommerce can be a remarkable tool when you use it well. So, as your first step, take the time to explore what ways you can create a great place for your customers and how you can make sure that they come and come back.

How To Set Up Multiple Streams Of Income Using Affiliate Programs Part 1 of 5

December 6th, 2007

Today I will give you ideas from Ken Evoy. Ken
has helped more people set up successful Internet
businesses than anyone on the ‘Net. And I’m not
exaggerating.

Just to prove my point, as your first free gift, I
am including a full fledged course written by Ken on the subject of setting up multiple streams of income using affiliate
programs. Just go here to download the Affiliate Masters Course:
http://www.netman-ecommerce-guru.com/Aff-Masters.zip

The Affiliate Masters Course gives you a proven
formula called CTPM.

C stands for content based on what people are
looking for. If you know what people are looking for,
it becomes easy to position your product as the
solution. If your product solves a burning problem for
people, you will get sales.

The whole issue of content revolves around
choosing the right words. In order to build a real
business you have to focus in on keywords that will
attract both customers and the search engines.
Customers look for words to help them determine whether
or not they are interested in what you are offering.
The search engines use words to help customers find
your site.

The Affiliate Masters Course discusses several
ways to select the right content so your success is
assured even before you launch your site. Creating
high profitability topics, based on key words will be
discussed in part 2 of this series.

T stands for targeted traffic. Before you can
make any money on the Internet, you have to have
traffic to your site. Not just any traffic, but
traffic that is interested in what you are selling.
You can pay for highly targeted traffic by advertising
in Pay-Per-Click (PPC) search engines. You can
establish relationships with other websites not
directly competing with your own to generate traffic.
The best way, however, is to get free traffic from the
search engines. Several free, paid and relationship
oriented strategies are discussed in parts 3 and 4 of
this series.

P stands for pre-selling. Pre-selling is a
process of creating credibility in the mind of the
prospect. Nobody trusts the Internet these days. The
only way to make any money is to provide valuable
information that people need. Once they start trusting
you, you can recommend products and services that will
help your customers and make you money. The whole
process is discussed in detail in the Course.

M stands for Monetization. Only AFTER you have
gone through all of the above steps can you expect to
make any money. The key in affiliate marketing is to
choose the right affiliate programs. You can choose
from backend providers, affiliate networks and
aggregators. Each has its pros and cons (discussed in
the Course).

Once you have identified some potential
“directories” or other source of affiliates you need to
dig into the details and find the really good ones.
Check for quality of the product, strength and
stability of the company, their ability to track sales
made by affiliates, how they pay and how often, does
their tracking system pay if the visitor comes back to
the site directly and buys later, etc. The course
contains too many details to cover here.

Right in the beginning of the Course is an example
of how a complete novice used these principles to earn
$49,000 in just over a year on his first attempt. He
did much better on his second attempt by earning over
$300,000.

I hope you will take the time to actually go
through this course. You are getting it free of charge
so you may tend not to give it much importance, but the
Affiliate Masters Course is one of the best and most
comprehensive resources on affiliate marketing.

Next week you will receive some free software that
will help you find highly profitable keywords. We will
discuss several strategies to use keywords to ensure
your success in your online business.

10 Reasons Why People Won’t Buy A Second Product From You

November 30th, 2007

1. You didn’t follow up after the first sale. After the

sale you could have introduced your other product

on the thank e-mail.

2. You didn’t ship the product in the about of time

you stated. If they needed it in a hurry and you

didn’t provide, they won’t rely on you again.

3. Your product didn’t do as promised. If your

product didn’t accomplish their desired goal they’re

not going to think your second product will either.

4. Your customer couldn’t get a hold of you in time

when they had a “after question” sale. You could

have added extra lines of communication.

5. Your customer doesn’t want to revisit your web

site because it didn’t offer much. You could have

offered more original content or freebies.

6. Your competition is offering free shipping with

their product. You should have been more aware

of how they are targeting your customers.

7. Your customer forgot your web site address.

You should have given your customers your web

site information in your product package.

8. Your customer service couldn’t solve a problem

they had with your product. Your customer service

should be trained to handle most problems.

9. You didn’t up-sell when they were already in the

buying mood. You can always try to sell your other

product when they’re ready to buy your first one.

10. Your competition offers a stronger money back

guarantee. You must always be thinking of better

ways to remove the risk from your customers.

YOU! Affiliate Must be Broke If…

YOU! Affiliate must be broke if…

YOU…

Keep following the crowd on your marketing techniques. If you
do things like every body else you will keep getting the same
results. What I mean is the habit of so many marketers trying to
market the overcrowded niche. Which you and me know for a fact
that very few marketers make money that way. If….

YOU…

Don’t promote wellness, health, dating, and relationship
products because that’s where money is. Relationships are
experiences we encounters everyday in our daily life. People
need help with this matter more that they need to know how to
optimize search engines (SEO). If you don’t promote product like
how to forget your
ex in 24hrs
, you are living money on the table. If…

YOU…

Still market as if you a in 2004.Things change rapidly on the
net. If you think your online education is like your college
education where you use the same book for five years you will
keep being broke. Here the technology changes very fast, you
need to study, test and looking for new opportunities every day
because if you don’t your competitors will. If…

YOU…

Don’t leverage other people’s assets. You know in school you
learnt to do everything on your own. It was okay then, but this
is the real world, you cannot do everything on your own and
expect enormous results. You only have 24hrs in a day, instead
use other peoples’ assets like their lists and time to leverage
your income. For example instead of spending eight hours writing
your ad copy, find a professional to do it for you while you use
that time to study your business. If..

YOU…

Work 16 hours every day without any results. You know what they
say; if you keep doing the same thing you will always keep
getting the same results. So, if you don’t get results you have
change what you’ve been doing.if…

YOU…

Rely on search engines to get traffic. I want to tell you the
truth here; there are other markets, which don’t find their
information by using search engines. So if you have your pages
indexed on google that still won’t help for all your niches
because some markets don’t hand out there. Instead study your
markets to find where they hang out; it could be on forums,
membership sites or communities.

Sincerely,

Timeo Busyanya

P.s You don’t have to be broke while there is a better product
to promote.

How to Start a Business on the Internet

November 11th, 2007

So you want to start a business? Good for you. Really, I mean that sincerely. I think about the millions of people that let the thought pass briefly through their minds on he way to work everyday.

The vas majority of people merely toy with the idea at points in their lives when they hate their bosses or their pay or their lack of vacation time. You, on the other hand, are investigating what it takes o start a business. At least you are going to find the answers here and stop wasting time wondering “what if.”

It is very easy to start a business if you do it on the internet. You have little overhead involved, no rent, not even products to stock (if you sell electronic goods)!

What’s more, there are literally thousands of people marketing other peoples’ products as “affiliates.” You can literally start a business using other peoples’ stock, property, know-how, services, and goods.

I know people who are making astounding amounts of money monthly just selling products that don’t even belong to them. I would tell you figures, but you’d never in a million years believe me.

How creative can you be? Well, here’s a little story of a guy who started a business online in one of the most unusual ways I have heard of in a long time.

You remember the deck of cards that the U.S. government created with the top 50 most wanted terrorists? Saddam Hussein was the Ace of Spades, if you recall.

Someone I know of got a hold of a distributor for those cards, and asked if they would take orders from him and ship orders to his customers. He then set up a website, joined Google’s Adwords program where you pay-per-click on your ad, and made $12,000.00 in ONE WEEK selling decks of cards with terrorists on them as souvenirs!

You think you can’t start a business on the internet? Think again! If a guy can make $12,000 a week selling souvenirs, you can certainly find products to sell or even create your own.

Most people start making money online as affiliates. This way you sell other peoples’ products and you get a commission for referring sales to them. All you need for this is some great products to affiliate with, a website, a host for your site, and you have everything you need!

Take my site for instance. I sell other peoples’ products and services and I love it. If you start a business like mine, there is no need to stock any products, get a merchant account, or deal with customer service. The product owners take care of all that.

Never in the history of mankind has it been easier or cheaper to start a business. If you want it, go for it!
