Modern Day Miracles

September 17th, 2007

In todays modern man, man is surrounded with the advancement of
time and technology. Man’s knowledge in many different fields
have tremendously grown in leaps and bounds. Many unknown past
have been uncovered and have given answers to man’s many
questions. More discoveries have been been exposed.

Despite all the modern tools available at every man’s disposal,
conflicts still arise. Unproven theories still exist.
Theological scholars have given evidences that man has been in
existence for 6,000 years while scientific theories propose that
humans and other creatures in this world have existed since
millions of years ago.

However, man still continues his quest in search of God. Can we
find God in modern times? Are there modern day miracles that
could lead one to believe that there is a God? Are there
evidences and proofs that can prove that there is a God? Some
people even search the purpose of their own existence in this
world.

If there is no God, did we simply exist by chance? Is the “big
bang” theory or the theory of evolution correct? On the
otherhand, can man really prove that there is no God?

Let us first try to see the things around us including our
modern day gadgets. If we say that cars have existed by chance,
many would strongly disagree with me. Simply because we know
that cars have been invented by man. If we’d say that modern
cars have evolved by themselves since the 1800’s, many still
will disagree on that too. Simply because we know that
automotive designers and engineers have made those significant
changes.

Computers are one of the greatest marvels of man’s inventions.
They work based on the programs that they are made. It can be
programmed to do any task that a programmer wants - either a
specific job or at a random function. Again, who’s behind it’s
existence and design? The engineers and programmers.

If a clock manufacturer would design a grandfather clock to
chime differently on every hour it strikes, that design has been
made with a rule on how that clock should operate. Maybe he
could establish a rule for that clock to sound an Ave Maria
music at one o’clock, or some other music at two o’clock, or
three o’clock, etc. Such a rule is a physical law that the clock
follows based on the manufacturer’s design.

Why does the sun rise from the east and not from the west? Why
does the earth follow a law of revolving around the sun and on
rotating at its own axis? Who created that rule for the earth
and the planets to follow? Certainly it is not human engineers
but somebody bigger and more powerful than you and me.

Why do humans and other animals have biorhythms? In general, why
do we always wake up in the mornings? Who programmed us to
follow those biorhythms? Certainly it is not the human doctors
or human engineers. Maybe you’d say it is in the genes. Well,
who made those genes? Maybe you’d say it is in the code
encrypted on the DNA’s. Well, who programmed those DNA’s?
Certainly SOMEBODY had designed us to be what we are and what we
do.

The fact that we can wake up in the next morning, is still a
miracle in itself. The fact that the sun rises in the east and
not on the west is still a miracle in itself. The birth of a
living baby is a miracle in itself. The fact that man can think
and design modern things is a miracle in itself.

If you’d say that you will believe in the existence of God only
if you can see miracles, everything that exist around us and all
that happens around us are miracles in themeselves, would you
now believe in God?

Do You Love Life?

September 16th, 2007

1 Peter 3:10 For “He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking guile;

Guile is another way of saying treachery or deceit. In other words our spoken words are not full of truth but deceit.

I would say this; any words that are not uplifting, any words that are not edifying to the hearer, any words that are contrary to God’s words are deceitful. I would also say that days that are full of grief and sorrow, sickness and disease, broken relationships and destroyed families are not good days are they? Do you want to see good days? Do you love life?

Jesus said in John 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

I would like to ask this question, if our words are not speaking life then what are they speaking? The opposite of life is always death. They never co-mingle. Life and death have nothing in common!

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Is this just an inconsequential saying that we can ignore, or is there really death and life in our words as the Scripture is saying?

Peter said that in order to see good days we had to keep our tongue under control and not speak deceit. I usually concentrate on the positive side of our words however there is a negative side as well that the Word of God talks about, so it needs to be addressed. It is easy when everything is going good to give God praise and say the right things, however when the trials of life come our way it is also just as easy to start complaining or speaking negative. I have learned to give God praise in the rough times as well as the good times. Recently this message was quickened in my spirit. A gentle reminder to keep my tongue.
These gentle reminders from the Holy Spirit will save us much grief if we will just pay attention to them.

How often do we just say what ever is on our mind? You might say well, I’m really not hurting any one. Really, you could be hurting yourself, your family, and loved ones with the very words you speak. Words have power to hurt as well as heal. I don’t know who originally said sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me, but I know they did not know the horrible hurt that can be inflicted by them.

Please consider this and start to take stock of your words, and realize that you are sowing seeds that most assuredly will germinate and grow. This is a very sobering thing to consider.

Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

I have seen so many Christians who are unconcerned about their words and never consider the real importance of idle talk or negative words. God’s Word has much to say about this and God has put a premium on words so we should learn to do so as well.

Psalms 15:4 In whose eyes a vile person is despised, But he honors those who fear the Lord; He who swears to his own hurt and does not change;

It goes on to say in vs. 5 that this person shall never be moved. I believe people are so careless about their words that they can not really have faith in their own words. I have seen this over and over and have even been there myself. How can you speak the word of God with Boldness and expect it to come to pass if you can not even honor your own words that you speak? The answer to that is that you can’t. How can you have faith in God who you have never seen if you are full of lying and deceit, you won’t and can’t.

People often blame God for their failures and get frustrated and will not admit that it could be them and not God who is to blame. We can not grow up if we will not acknowledge the truth, and if we don’t acknowledge the truth we can never be truly free in Christ.

There can never be good from evil speaking, none! I think every ones mother probably said this at one time or another, if you can’t say something good about someone don’t say anything at all.

Maybe our mothers didn’t know it, but this is a Scriptural principle in God’s Word.

Refrain your tongue from evil. They were saying nearly the same thing that James was saying, even if they didn’t realize it.

James said this … James 3:2-10 For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. 3. Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body.
Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.
For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

He goes on to say; Thus no spring can yield both salt water and fresh. What is he really saying here? He is saying that what you speak is what is coming up out of you, and what is coming up out of you is either salty or fresh. Whose fault is that? Jesus said a very similar thing… Matthew 12:34 “Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. We need to check up on what is in our heart. We after all, we are the ones who program these earthly computers.

Speaking correct words is one of the first lessons the Lord taught me as a young Christian.
It has also been a recurring theme in my teaching. This is something the Lord has reminded me of at several important times in my life.

Many Christians mess up the plan and purpose of God for their lives and the lives of their families as well with their negative attitude and words. God’s plan for us can be thwarted if we will not side with Him and begin to speak the things He has already told us to speak in His Word. I have been in this situation myself and received a wake up call from the Lord concerning my children some years ago. Being a parent is not always the easiest thing in the world, however we are given instructions on how to raise them. We have a responsibility in this. I was saying things to my children that was preventing God from acting in their lives. The things I was saying were said as a concerned parent trying to help, yet they were not the things God wanted me to say. I would say things like you are messing up your life with this kind of behavior, and if you don’t stop this you will never amount to anything. Although in the natural these things were true, it was not what God wanted from me. One day during a time of study the Lord spoke to me and told me to hush the things I was saying. The truth was I knew better, yet even if we know better it is easy sometimes especially with something that is as close and as personal as your own children to forget the things you know. After this I repented before the Lord and began to see and speak the correct things by faith. I know by experience how hard this can be, but I also know beyond a shadow of a doubt how faithful God is. He gives us the grace to succeed.

God is faithful and always honors His Word. Not sometimes, ALWAYS. I can say as a testimony to all that will listen. He is no respecter of persons. What He did for me he will do for you. Glory to His Name.
Here are a few Scriptures to consider. There are many more through out the Word of God.

Proverbs 12:18 There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health.

Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.

Proverbs 4:20 My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.
21. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart;
22. For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.

Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

I would like to ask this question. Are you speaking death filled words or life filled words? God has given us this choice and even told us what to choose. Choose life.
This not only affects us, but the future of our families as well. I’m so glad I chose life, and want to encourage you to do the same. It is our decision to make, choose life.

Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Do you want to be a joint heir with Christ?
If so, I urge you to earnestly pray the following prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Your word says, “…and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.” (Jn.6:37),

So I know You won’t cast me out, but You take me in, And I thank you for it. You said in your Word, “whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Ro. 10:13).

I am calling on Your name, So I know You have saved me now, You also said, “…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.” (Ro.10:9,10).

I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe He was raised from the dead for my justification. And I confess Him now as my Lord, Because Your Word says, “… with the heart one believes to righteousness…” and I do believe with my heart, I have now become the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Cor. 5:21),

And I am saved! Thank You, Lord!
I can now truthfully say, I see myself as a born again child of God!

Glory to God!!!! Amen.

I was raised Catholic, and was born again at the age of 17. I received God’s call into ministry at the age of 19 and began to prepare for ministry. I graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in 1979, The Lord has called me to teach. I want to help other come to a knowledge of the truth and have started a web site for the purpose of teaching and discipleship called The Olive Branch;

A House of Prayer for All Peoples?

August 21st, 2007

On Simchat Torah (Festival of the Rejoicing of the Law/Last Great Day) I went up to the Temple Mount with my Bible to pray. Although I do not usually wear a kippa (skull cap), I took one with me.

My first challenge was to pass the guards near the Temple Mount entrance; if they saw me with my Bible they would not let me enter. I silently prayed all the way up to the site where God’s Temple stood twice, and will be rebuilt for a third and final time, that I would be able to go in. I got past the guards.

You say Jewish guards prevent Christians and Jews from exercising their religious right to pray on the Temple Mount? That’s right! Only Muslims have unlimited access to Judaism’s most holy site. Only the Koran is permitted within. The Tanach (Jewish Scripture, known to much of the world as the “Old Testament”) and Christian Scriptures (the New Testament) are forbidden. Yet Israel claims to respect the religious rights of all people.

Israel has no law against Christians and Jews praying or reading scriptures on the Temple Mount. However, it does have an unwritten agreement with the Wakf (Muslim religious authorities) prohibiting this. No sign is posted, stating: “Warning! Christian and Jewish prayers are forbidden! Bibles not allowed inside by Muslim religious authorities. Proceed with caution!”

I do not accept that Moslems have the authority to forbid me from reading appropriate Psalms or the New Testament account of Jesus celebrating the Water Libation Ceremony (Psalms 120-134, John 7:37). My question was, where should I read those passages? I ended up between the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aksa mosque, just to the right of the place where Moslems wash their hands and feet. I was on the other side of the raised platform there, if you face the Mosque of Omar.

First, I nervously sat and read. Then I put on my black kippa, stood up and started to read for a few minutes until I became distracted by fears of being attacked by the Moslem guards. I sat down, took off my kippa, and continued to read. Then one of the Wakf guards noticed me and asked what I was reading. I replied, “Yes, it’s my book.” He took it from me and saw that it was a Bible. He demanded to know if I was a Christian or a Jew. When I told him I was a Christian, he asked me why I was wearing a magen David (Star of David).

I did not feel obligated to explain that it was a gift from my mother and youngest sister, and told him, “Give back my Bible.” He ordered, “You have to leave now!” Again I said, “Give back my Bible.” When he refused, I demanded its return more loudly. He raised his fist as if to hit me and warned me not to raise my voice. This attracted the attention of some passing tourists, who gathered around us. I told them, “This thief has stolen my Bible!”

The Wakf guard told me to leave again and threatened to hit me. He said he would give me back my Bible outside. Since there was no reason for him to confiscate it in the first place, I told him to return it to me then and there and I would go. At this point he radioed an Israeli policeman, who came running. The Israeli handcuffed my right hand, which I raised and showed to the assembled tourists, saying, “This is Israeli democracy!” I asked the Israeli repeatedly, “What law have I broken?” knowing that I had not broken any law, yet was being treated like a common criminal.

I am shocked that Jewish police in the Jewish State help maintain Moslem domination of the Temple Mount by suppressing Christian and Jewish religious rights there. Is it the Temple Mount or the Mosque Mount?

An Israeli policeman led me away. I told the bewildered tourists, “This is what happens to a Christian or Jew who wants to read the Bible where the holy Temple stood. This is what happens to Christians and Jews who want to pray where our prophets and patriarchs prayed, and where Jesus and his disciples taught.”

Why the exclusive religious rights for Moslems? And Israel wants to hand over control of Rachel’s Tomb, Bethlehem and Joseph’s Tomb to Moslem religious authorities?! Are they crazy or what?

In the police station at the Western Wall Plaza, the officers wanted to know who else was with me. They were relieved to find that I was alone. (They should have known I was performing a mitzva [religious commandment]). The police said they arrested me for my own protection. I told them they should have arrested the Wakf guard who threatened me! Why not remove, once and for all, the threat of Moslem violence? Why reward Moslem extremists?

The police laughed in disbelief when I told them I am a Christian and that my Bible includes the New Testament, which they returned to me. A Druze officer said, “But you must respect other religions.” He remained silent when I asked, “Where was their respect for mine?” I explained that our Biblical goal is to enable everyone to come and pray on the mountain where God’s Temple stood, and in the Temple when it will be rebuilt. It is prophesied to become a “House of Prayer” for all nations.

The police told me I could return to the Temple Mount as a tourist - without my Bible. I said that I do not want to go up there only as a “tourist;” I want to pray there. When they asked me how many times I had been up there, I said “a thousand.” They wrote that down in their report. They said I could make a short statement for the record. I said something to this effect: “Is it too much to ask during this 3,000th anniversary of King David’s Jerusalem to peacefully read his inspired words on the Temple Mount?”

When I left the police compound, one of the policemen told me I did a good thing. Once outside, I was met by some Jews who saw the incident and congratulated me.

I pray that this unfortunate encounter will raise awareness of Israel’s religious discrimination against Christians and Jews. The situation must change. It will when enough people cry “Basta!” (Italian for “enough!”).

May the day soon come when Christians, Jews and Moslems can say: “My House shall be called a house of prayer for all Peoples.” (Isaiah 56:7). The Bible says

“Moreover, concerning the stranger, who (is) not of Your people Israel, but comes out of a far country for Your Name’s sake. For they shall hear of Your great Name, and of your mighty hand, and of Your outstretched arm, and will come and pray toward this house. Hear you in heaven Your dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calls to You for, that all peoples of the earth may know Your Name, to fear you, as (do) Your people Israel, that they may know that Your Name is called upon this house that I have built.” (I Kings 8:41-43)

“And the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord to serve Him and to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants - everyone who observes the Sabbath - I will bring them to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon My altar, for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.” (Isaiah 56:6-7)

“And it shall come to pass at the end of days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established at the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, and peoples shall flow to it. And many nations shall go, and say, ‘Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord…and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths,’ for out of Zion shall go forth the Torah, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.” (Micah 4:1-2)

Helping Your Children Grow in a Sinful World

August 20th, 2007

So your kids are getting older and you’re worried about how to
deal with the world outside your door. When you open it, you’re
flooded with a multitude of temptations…all inviting your
children to join the new order of instant gratification. The
seduction is hard enough for adults to deal with, so how can the
underdeveloped Christian mind ever hope to resist. Especially
when the don’t understand the serious harm some of these things
can do.

It Starts with Example

Needless to say, it all starts with example. Johnny might not
buy into Mom and Dad’s strict life policies, but he’ll at least
always remember it. It’ll gnaw at the back of his conscience and
continue to urge him towards holiness throughout his life.

And it works the other way too. A bad example from parents will
always be an excuse for poor behavior from young adults. Think
of how many times you’ve thought to yourself, “My dad used to do
it…it can’t be that bad.”

But it Doesn’t End There

Parenthood calls for more than example. After all, many selfless
parents have raised selfish (spoiled) brats. There has to be
more. There has to be some intervention. But how much? Do we
keep them in a bubble until they’re eighteen? Or do we allow
them to experience and learn from the world?

This subject is much too large for one article. But there’s an
important aspect to parenthood that was probably not passed on
from our own parents…because when they were parents, it wasn’t
as big an issue.

The fact is, we’re no longer living in a Christian world…and
we have to adjust our approach to life. We can no longer rely on
any sort of rating system from the entertainment world. We can’t
trust that our schools (even the Catholic ones) are going to
provide a Christian education.

This means that you’ll have to pay more attention and teach your
kids what it means to be Christian. You have to make them
realize that they are different. They have to feel separated
from the rest of the world. At first, this could mean something
as simple as teaching them not to pay attention to the Jones’s.
But eventually, they need to know their unique position. They
are children of God…and that carry’s responsibility.

Telling them once isn’t a cure-all. There has to be a continuing
reminder that our duty to God comes first. And of course, it’ll
only work with prayer and example.

Let There be Light

August 17th, 2007

The Hindu festival of Diwali is upon us - a time to celebrate and to rejoice, a time of sharing, of being with family and friends and a time to fill not only the empty stomachs but, especially, the empty hearts and spirits. The festivals of Eid, Diwali and Christmas soon to come, serve to remind and to restore, the meaning and purpose of our lives. Without them our lives would be less colourful.

Diwali, often known as the ‘festival of lights’, is highly symbolic. In Hindu mythology, the celebration restored light and life into the kingdom, ushering a new dawn, a new age of truth and righteousness, as it marked the return of King Rama to the throne after being in exile for 14 years. The darkness, which is always followed by light, refers to the enlightenment of the soul, after having lived in ‘exile’ from its own truth.

Hence the lighting of the lamp, usually made up of a clay vessel and a white cotton wick, symbolises igniting the spirit of the soul while seated in the body of clay. The light is fuelled with the oil of knowledge through the wick of the intellect. The intensity of the light, generated through our thoughts, words and deeds, depends on the extent to which we absorb the oil of knowledge and increase understanding. In reality there is no darkness, only absence of the light of truth. This is why in life; importance is given to acquisition of wisdom and knowledge through scriptures, science and silence. Yet the authentic power lies in the implementation of these truths.

To every end there is a new beginning. Hence Diwali is an auspicious time, the confluence of the old and new. It is a time to close off old business accounts and to open new ones; a metaphor for checking the accounts of the soul, to map the future and fix a ‘budget’ for our thoughts, words and deeds.

Occasions such as these inspire enthusiasm and newness in our lives and it is only in this state of joy that we can think of resolutions and bring about sincere transformation. Try changing habits in a state of sorrow and it is difficult, but when the soul is healthy and happy then one can move mountains and illuminate the forgotten kingdom of the self.

Why Do We Lack Character

August 15th, 2007

Widespread Impression.

“Our people have no character” is acknowledged universally, at
home and abroad, in business and government circles, and in
every sphere of administrative activity. Lack of character
produces social imbalance and leads ultimately to national
decline and disintegration. The malady has been eating up the
vitals of our social life too fast to withstand an unexpected
shock.

Meaning of Character.

The outward signs of a weak character are commonly believed to
be bribery, corruption and exploitation but they do not bring
out the true significance of the word. It belongs to the realm
of ethics, which defines character in terms not easily
intelligible to the common man. Here are a few definitions given
by Western writers on ethics.

Character Defined.

Preservation of life is an animal instinct; not so is the
preservation of honour. The concept of honour is unknown to the
animal world. In fact it forms the line of demarcation between
the Animal and the Man. Honour is a specific human value.
Preservation of human values elevates the level of life, from
the animal to the human. Character may, therefore, be defined as
who so preserves human values against animal instincts is a man
of character.

Assessment of Human Values.

Human values might have different meanings. Take the word
honour. “God has saved my honour,” means that I have not been
disgraced before my friends. “She gave her life to save her
honour”—here honour signifies chastity. But the meaning of
chastity itself might differ from people to people. In the East
if some one casts an evil glance at a veiled lady, her father or
brother would not hesitate to shoot him. In the West, however,
if a girl flirts publicly, her father or brother, instead of
having any qualms, would feel proud of her as a popular society
girl! Again one society might attach the greatest importance to
a particular value which in the estimation of another society
might not be a value at all. We respect and honour our parents,
but there have been tribes with whom eating them up constituted
a sacred duty. The Puritans saw nothing wrong in stealing Negro
children and shooting the Irishmen. The Jews thought it bad,
even criminal, to levy interest among themselves but permitted
it in the case of non-Jews. In an island of the Pacific there is
a tribe with whom dishonesty is the best moral conduct and among
whom the cleverest cheat is held in the highest esteem. Thugs
felt proud of killing poor wayfarers. Nationalism is recognized
the world over as a political and social creed and one who helps
the well being of his nation by exploiting the other nations, is
regarded a patriot worthy of being immortalized in metal and
marble.

Universal Standard of Character.

Since human values vary with different societies should
character mean harmonizing oneself to the values which a society
might stress for the time being? In days gone by Spartans viewed
theft a virtue and held the smartest thief in the high-test
esteem; today theft is a crime and a thief a criminal. With us
conception of a virgin is a disgrace for the family, in the West
sexual intercourse between a willing couple is neither an evil
nor a criminal offense: even homosexuality between willing
parties is condoned there. Is there then no universal standard
of character?

Quranic Concept of Character.

People inhabiting different countries might follow different
ways of life but, according to the Holy Quran, human values are
the same anywhere and unchangeable too. It is not given,
however, to human intellect to determine such values. Human
intellect is essentially individualistic in character. It can
seek preservation of the particular self to which it belongs
individually or collectively, but not that of the other selves.
For the well-being and preservation of mankind as a whole,
however, what is needed is not an individualistic intellect,
which cannot see beyond its nose, but a comprehensive and all
pervading intellect, namely God and Revelation. It is Revelation
alone which gives abiding universal values. The revealed values
are preserved in the Holy Quran, the code of life for mankind in
all climes and ages. Quranic values are Permanent Values of life
and provide a universal standard of character or, to use Quranic
terminology, Taqwa.

Rational thought fully endorses Quranic concept of character.
The famous writer Hastings Rashdall says:”That there is one
absolute standard of values, which is the same for all rational
beings, is just what Morality means.”(The Theory of Good and
Evil, Vol. II, page 286)

On page 211 of the book he agrees that these values cannot be
devised by human intellect but have been revealed to man and
says:

“Certainly it (moral law) is to be found, wholly and completely,
in no individual human consciousness. Men actually think
differently about moral questions, and there is no empirical
reason for supposing that they will ever do otherwise”.

Basis of Character.

Character and human dignity are closely connected with a firm
belief in the following:–

(a)that man is not merely his body, but has also a Personality
whose integration is life’s real purpose;

(b)that as there are laws for the development of Body, so there
are laws for the integration of Personality, called permanent
values;

(c)that permanent values cannot be discovered by human intellect
but have been revealed by God; and

(d)that every action leaves an indelible impression on the
doer’s Personality.

Law of Development.

One of the laws governing development of Personality is that
development proceeds in proportion to what one makes available
from his earnings for the development of others. One who
believes in human Personality works his best for earning a
living, utilizes as much of it as would furnish basic needs of
life and makes the rest available for the development of fellow
beings. Judged by physical standards the process brings nothing
but loss. If one knows that what is left after meeting his needs
would pass to others, why should he work for the surplus. He
should normally work for procuring his needs only and then
relax. The reasoning is logical and a satisfactory answer to the
argument is not easy to produce. Russia faced the self-made
problem and in the absence of an adequate answer had no
alternative to hanging an iron curtain along its borders.

Healing With Neither Power Nor Holiness

August 12th, 2007

Thank God that our level of power or holiness has nothing to do with our ability to get our selves or our loved ones healed. Take the case of Peter.

In Acts 3, he used the name of Jesus to get the man lying at the Temple Gate healed. In so doing, he declared that his (Peter’s) level of power or holiness had nothing to do with the healing of this helpless man.

Acts 3:12
12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? (KJV)

I cannot over-emphasize the importance of this principle: Getting your loved one healed is not dependent upon your level of power of holiness! If it was, then no one would ever be healed.

Even Peter knew his level of power or holiness had nothing to do with the lame man’s healing.

The devil will sidetrack you in this misunderstanding first. If he can make you believe that the healing of yourself or your loved one is in any way conditioned upon your own level of power or holiness, neither you nor your loved one will be healed!

Why? Because not one of us, including Peter, has enough power or holiness to get any one healed.

The proper approach to healing disarms the devil completely as he tries to peddle his “you are not powerful or holy enough” lie. You see, the anointing for healing comes on an act of faith based upon one or more healing scriptures used with Jesus’ name.

Find one or more of these healing scriptures and do what they tell you to do. The healing anointing comes on an act of faith based on our obedience to the healing scriptures. This is the mechanics of healing by faith. This is the way it works. Obedience to a healing scripture used with Jesus name is our victory.

Thank God! Our level of power or holiness has nothing to do with our ability to get a loved one healed. That ability is based on obeying the word of God in conjunction with using with Jesus’ name.

Easter - A Season of Renewal

August 8th, 2007

The glory of Easter is demonstrated each year to all Christians who believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This demonstration takes place during the weeks leading up to, and including, the days of Holy Week through our preparation for the death and rising of Jesus. The preparation for Easter is called Lent and it is during this period that Christians are asked to cleanse their minds, hearts, and souls. This cleansing is performed in various fashions on an individual basis and it is through these individual efforts that some find themselves in direct communication with the spirit of God. Through prayer, meditation, and other practices we solicit God to come into our lives for direct inspiration, healing, and cleansing. Those fortunate enough to have mastered the ability to quiet themselves in dedicated prayer and meditation are more apt than others to gain the spiritual benefits that the Easter season can provide. It is this commitment to prayer and the ability to contact God that is yearned by so many of us but realized by so few. The struggle to “find” God out there is often discouraging to many Christians. It is only when each of us realizes that God can be found in each of our individual hearts when we make the effort to look deep within that we understand the closeness of our everyday relationship with Him. God is with us always! There is no separation from Him. It is not only on Easter Sunday that His son Christ Jesus rises in our souls. He rises in our souls everyday if we only call on Him to do so.

It is in this realization that new life springs forth for each of us. Our daily lives are energized and we become “alive” in Jesus Christ. How do we know this? How do we know His presence is near? One of the ways this becomes clear is in acknowledging the Christ presence in all of the people and objects in the universe. God lives in and is represented in everything before us. When we recognize His closeness we begin to see life, its triumphs, trials, and tribulations in a whole different light. We begin to measure the importance of events that take place on a regular basis in a different way. And we quickly come to the realization that most of the things that we encounter on a daily basis aren’t that important after all.

We should gain pleasure and comfort in knowing that God is with us. It is indeed He that grants us the freedom to express and execute our God-given talents in any way we choose. Of course, He does wish for us to use those talents in an appropriate way and in accordance with the divine plan He has for each of us. Just what is that plan and how are we to know? Do we have any input? How do we tap into it and how do we know if we are on the right path? The answer lies in our trust in God and in our belief that through active prayer and meditation He will guide us to fulfill His divine plan for us. God is the Way-Shower. It is our responsibility to demonstrate our love for Him in our willingness to submit and release our ego desires to His Will. Many of us struggle with the idea of giving up our false concept of “control”. Many of us have lost sight of the basic laws which govern our spiritual existence. It is in this “lost” existence that many of us find ourselves not living up to expectations. Or, we find other false gods that are not so worthy of our focus and love. The pursuit of these false gods often result in heartache for ourselves and our loved ones. Whether it be the lure of money, alcohol, drugs, or some other earthly temptation, these troubled pursuits can all be eliminated when we accept Christ Jesus and the Most High God as our true sources of strength, courage, and love. Make room for Christ. Discover His presence in your heart. Recognize His desire for you to realize He is always there for you. It is our spiritual objective to come to this realization and live accordingly.

So how do we reach this spiritual objective and why don’t we see witness to more people having successfully attained this understanding? Great questions. The answers are contained in each of our individual pursuits of our own hearts and souls. The great discovery within! And the confidence to live in “spirit”, not ego. God isn’t in some far off heaven. He is right here, right now! We need to dedicate ourselves to reaching Him in our own hearts, and we do this through quiet prayer and meditation. I’m sure you’re saying, easier said than done. You are right. But, without the effort to reach Him we can never fully realize our true purpose in this life. And that is the mission of “Easter”. With great faith we embark on this spiritual journey in the human form to know, to love, and to serve God. Our pursuits take us to the quiet places in our own hearts where we search for that silent place where God can communicate with us. That silent place where we can experience the touch of God’s own hand guiding us along the divine path He has created specifically for each one of us. We can only imagine that this place is filled with nothing but love, beauty, and peace where we are united and one with our God.

The beauty and new hope of each passing Easter season is in the knowledge that more and more of God’s children are coming to the realization that it is in God that our true strength and spiritual inspiration exists. God is our one source of all that is good. The beauty is in the realization that our God exists right here and right now in each of us. The beauty is in the realization that heaven is not some far away place that exists for only a chosen few but that it can exist right here for ALL of us. The spiritual revolution that is currently gaining momentum throughout the world comes at a time when it is much needed. Through the continuing courage and strength of world leaders around the globe and through people that believe in the existence of a Higher Source, the world can reach new heights where God Himself can continue to expand His territory and His love for ALL. Through the belief in God can the realization of a world that exists in peace become reality.

Easter is a season of renewal that should remain with us each passing day. Why can’t everyday be marked with the blessings and happiness of the risen Lord on Easter Sunday? Isn’t it possible? Of course it is. With the assistance and guidance of God, each of us must take personal responsibility for “expanding” His territory. I encourage all of us to join in this spiritual journey. Yes, Christ is risen! Yes, earth is now redeemed! God Bless! Happy Easter.

Proclaiming your Christianity in the digital age

July 31st, 2007

There’s no doubt that computers and the internet have changed
our lives drastically. We can communicate with everyone,
everywhere, in a way we could not have ever imagined just a few
years ago. These technological innovations give Christians an
overwhelming amount of new opportunities to spread the word of
God.

One of these opportunities lies within every Christian’s grasp
and could be utilized within minutes. Just take a look at the
computer you’re using right now: whether you’re in a library,
school, at work or home, chances are that you’re not the only
one using the computer you have in front of you. The first thing
people see when they start up their computer is a desktop
wallpaper, which most likely contains a tiled texture or a
Windows logo if they have left it in the default state. You can
replace that with an exciting picture with God’s scripture on
it, sitting their at your desktop, visible to everyone who uses
your computer. Just visit a website that offers Christian
wallpaper, such as http://www.ccdb.nl , find the picture you
like and click with your right mouse button on it to show a menu
from where you can choose to set the picture as your computer’s
wallpaper.

While it may already be very common to place your own picture as
a wallpaper, it’s still a very powerful yet underused tool for
Christians to tell others about God’s message. It will
guaranteed raise some eyebrows, initiate conversations and
encourage Christians and non-Christians alike. Gone are the days
where you just stare at a boring Windows logo.

Slapped in the Face!

July 12th, 2007

They kept it all

It was thrown in the streets, the highways and byways. Yes, the silver, the gold, the diamonds, the dollars, the pound notes and other currencies. No! No! Too late! Too late! We cannot use it now! Pestilence, disasters, disease, plagues, heat, cold, floods fire, and earthquake are all around us. Angels, horses, chariots and a king are all visible in the sky. The noisy trumpets are sounding loudly, the sky is rolled back and the heaven is on fire, what use is money to us now?

Money given but Rejected

Employers, husbands and wives, fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, boyfriends and girlfriends, emptied their bank accounts for those in need but had problems giving the money away. Employers pleaded, ‘Here is the money that we owe you guys and sorry about the delay. I believe we owe you lots of money. Here is what we owe take it and buy what you need.’

‘Thank you, boss, but our bills are all paid for, our fridges and freezers are filled with food, and our homes are warm and we are not cold and hungry any more!’

‘Wife’, says the husband, ‘take this money and buy enough food in the house to feed yourself and the children.’
‘Thank you, husband, but we are not hungry anymore; we are full and have all that’s needed!’
‘ I’m terribly sorry for not being there for you and the children when you needed me. When you asked me for financial help I turned away from you, although, I knew the situation. Also, my friends, relations and work meant more to me than you and the kids, even knowing that we were a married couple and had a family; I still did not do my duty. Instead, I was a husband and father to others, even to my work place. When I took my friends out I paid for their meals, drinks, and helped pay for their holidays. Also, I left you at home and went on holidays with friends, relations and with my work place, and left all to suffer. Therefore, I have failed as a husband and father.

My son my daughter here is some money, buy yourselves the things that you’ve always needed for some time now!’
‘Thanks mum and dad but I don’t need these things anymore. I have enough now and plenty to spare and I shall not be in need anymore. Goodbye mum, goodbye dad, sorry to know that I shall never see you again.’

‘Dear mummy and daddy, I’m sorry for not helping you out when you needed me, but I’m here now and ready to help you. Here is some money to pay your rent/mortgage and to pay your heating bills.’
‘Thank you my son and daughter, but our rent/mortgage and heating bills have all been paid for us and never again shall we ask or need your help. Your unkindness toward us has separated us eternally and we will not see each other again. Farewell my son, farewell my daughter!’

‘My girlfriend, here is some money to help you buy some shopping and help with your rent while you are studying.’
‘Thank you my love but I’m not in need anymore. A kind person saw my desperation and came to rescue me and now your help is no longer required, goodbye, we shall not meet again!’

‘My loving boyfriend I’ve bought you a present and it’s something you’ve always wanted.’
‘It’s okay now my darling, I don’t need the heater anymore. My room is warm and I’m now resting in the glory and warmth of my Lord. Farewell! Farewell! I shall not see your face again.’

Final Plea to Take what was Robbed

The rich men and women pleaded with those whom they robbed and cheated and did not help to take the money that was offered them. But the money was thrown into the streets because it was useless and had no value. It could not buy food, medicine, clothing or any of the necessities of life. Everything in the world was now free, but no one was interested in this freedom of wealth.’

How Some got their Wealth

The poor were robbed, orphans forsaken, widows and widowers neglected, the sick forsaken, the naked given no clothing, and the hungry went without food. For centuries the poor have been forsaken and robbed by those who were so much wealthier than they. However, there is no harm in being wealthy but the problem occurs in how this wealth was gained, worshipped and distributed. When money is not being put to good use but hoarded for self gratification, sin lurks at the door and evil takes control. Money is not an evil thing in itself, but the love of it makes it evil. And because of the love of it, many lives will be lost eternally.

A Man Died that you might Live!

Jesus left his home in heaven and came to this evil world to save humanity from total ruin. As a result of dying on the cross we became His priceless gem and given the opportunity of having eternal life. When He was on earth He did not only heal the sick but cared for those in need, although, He was Himself poor. Therefore, Jesus is our example in caring and loving each another.

Reminder

The things of this world are only but for a short time, so don’t set your hearts on the temporal things because they are only for a moment. Don’t allow your worldly goods or the pleasures of this world rob you of eternal life. Just remember it’s not wrong to have riches but it’s the love of it that makes it evil. Do your best in doing what is right, then you shall hear those wonderful words spoken by Jesus “Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. I was hungry and you gave me food, naked and you clothed me, sick and in prison and you visited me”!

May the Lord bless and keep you, may the Lord cause his face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you, may the Lord lift up the light of His countenance upon you and be gracious unto you this day now and for evermore, AMEN.
