Choosing the perfect engagement ring for the bride-to-be

January 28th, 2008

Do you know how the tradition of wearing an engagement ring on
the fourth finger of the left hand started? The ancient
Egyptians started this tradition symbolizing undying love as
they believe the love vein Vena Amoris ran directly from this
finger to the heart. Later in AD 860 the Pope Nicolas I made
this practice of wearing gold engagement ring official.

Here are some engagement ring ideas.

You want to be unique. Consider getting a colored diamond. They
are rarer than white diamonds. In fact, only one in 10,000
diamonds is a colored one .The colors range from yellow, pink
and blue. Remember Jennifer Lopez’s infamous pink diamond
engagement ring ? A pink diamond ring is extremely rare and very
expensive with prices starting from more than a hundred
thousand. Yellow diamond is more common than the other colors
and is definitely more attainable for a well to do couple.
Generally, colored diamonds cost 25 to 50% more than white
diamonds. In either case, choose a quality diamond by looking at the 4Cs.

Couples are also opting for bigger diamonds. The traditional
one carat engagement ring has been superseded by 3 to 5
carat diamond engagement ring.

There are many new ideas for engagement rings. You can choose
new diamond settings too. I understand solitare diamond is the
most popular followed by the princess cut. The bezel setting is
now very popular . Instead of the diamond being elevated, it is
surrounded by metal. How about a tension set diamond engagement
ring? The diamond seems to float and is actually held on its
edges. It looks very cool.

Three stone rings are also hot now, the bigger center diamond
is accented on both sides by smaller stones of the same shape.
Guy Ritchie and Madonna,Phil Bronstein and Sharon Stone are two
of the hottest Hollywood couples currently sporting them.

If you really want to be unique, consider antique diamond or
heirloom diamond jewelry where the cutting was actually done
manually by craftsman. You can then take out the old setting and
place the diamond in a new modern setting. Alternatively, you
can also consider getting a new diamond to be placed in your old
setting thus making it unique.

The choice of metal is also important. Platinum is sought after
for its hypoallergenic properties. It is stronger and heavier
than gold and will remain tarnish free forever compared to gold.
Here are some platinum diamond engagement rings. Other innovative
use of metal include two toned rings and even rings that combine
three metals.

If you want different gemstone, consider alternative gemstones
like Sapphires, rubies and emeralds.

If money is an issue, consider getting a gemstone that looks
like the real thing such as Cubic zirconia or moissanite.
Moissanite rates an impressive 9.25 on the Mohs scale ( a
diamond is a perfect 10) which is harder than emeralds and
rubies.A one-carat moissanite cost about $500 while a diamond of
the same size may set you back by $6,000. You can always upgrade
to a diamond ring on your next wedding anniversary.

How to Have an Abundant Holiday Season

January 23rd, 2008

How To Have An Abundant Holiday Season

“There is no ideal Christmas; only the one Christmas you decide
to make as a reflection of your values, desires, affections,
traditions.” - Bill McKibben

“As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be
simpler; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be
poverty, not weakness.” - Henry David Thoreau

Thanksgiving has come and gone. Christmas is on the way. How
many times has someone asked you “The Big Holiday Question?” If
you are a woman, you have probably heard it several times
already. You, yourself, might have asked others The Big Holiday
Question. If you are a man, you probably have no idea what The
Big Holiday Question is.

The Big Holiday Question

The Big Holiday Question is, “Are you ready for the holidays?” I
first became aware of this question years ago. I noticed that
women began to greet each other with The Big Holiday Question,
starting sometime in late October, and kept asking the question
into January.

I also noticed that almost every woman answered The Big Holiday
Question with an exasperated, “No,” and then begin to recite the
myriad of tasks she “had to do.” I have often heard women end
their recitation with a fervent declaration, “I dread the
holidays and wish they were already over.”

If you listen, you will hear the question everywhere you go. The
Big Holiday Question is something like the private code of a
secret society. By asking The Big Holiday Question, women
instantly recognize themselves as members of a society of
sisters overwhelmed with Too Much To Do.

“Christmas is a season of such infinite labour, as well as
expense in the shopping and present-making line, that almost
every woman I know is good for nothing in purse and person for a
month afterwards, done up physically, and broken down
financially. ” –Fanny Kemble

More Is Not Abundance

Ironically, The Big Holiday Question is one of the most powerful
and insidious enemies to living an “Abundantly Alive Now!” life.
The reason is that the Big Holiday Question is propelled by the
idea of doing more, and more, and more, and more. All around us,
we are bombarded with messages of more.

Whether the reasons are innate or socially created, women seem
to feel responsible for doing the lion’s share of the “have-tos”
to get ready for the holidays. As far as I can tell, men do not
drive themselves crazy asking each other The Big Holiday
Question. Holiday overkill seems to be a female sport. For many
women, the holiday season is driven by the idea of shopping
more, spending more, buying more, cooking more, baking more,
simply doing more, and more, and more.

And more is never enough.

I don’t intend to get into a war of the sexes game here by
claiming that men “should” do more. My point is that The Big
Holiday Question is an enemy of abundance. Anytime you are
feeling overwhelmed with thoughts of all you “have to do” to
prepare for the dreaded upcoming holidays, you are not living in
abundance. Driving yourself crazy with a massive holiday do-to
list is a demonstration of lack rather than abundance.

Another Question

As a replacement for The Big Holiday Question, I offer you one
of my favorite questions, “What is enough?” In another issue, I
will tell why that question is so important to me. Right now, I
offer you the question to set you free from the relentless
demands of The Big Holiday Question, which never knows when to
quit.

For example, instead of telling yourself that you have to bake
ten kinds of holiday cookies, you could ask yourself, “What is
enough?” You might decide that “enough” means baking only two
kinds of Christmas cookies instead of ten. Or you could decide
to skip baking cookies entirely this year. The question, “What
is Enough?” changes the equation. Instead of “trying” to do
everything you think you “should,” you decide what enough means
for you.

About the time I began to notice The Big Holiday Question, I
also made my own decision about the holidays. I love the holiday
season. I love Christmas trees and sparkling lights. I love to
buy presents for the people I love. I decided that I would
remain calm and peaceful in the season, even if everyone else
was going crazy around me. My own criterion for the “What is
enough?” question is, if I begin to feel even the slightest bit
frantic, I decide I have passed the point of “Enough” into the
terrain of “Too Much.”

“Don’t worry about anything. Worrying never solved anything. All
it does is distort your mind.” - Milton Garland

Enough

The truth is, feeling Abundantly Alive Now! never results from
the word “more.” This feeling results from the word “enough.”
Abundance means having enough to live joyously, calmly, and
lovingly in the present moment.

Ultimately, the greatest harm done by The Big Holiday Question
is that it diverts your attention from living fully in this
moment and focuses it upon a future time. It is one thing to
plan and prepare. It is another matter entirely to sacrifice the
only moment you have to live your life, which is this moment, to
replace it with harried efforts to “Get ready for the holidays.”

A Guide To General Female Health

January 19th, 2008

A number of novels and stories of the early 18th and 19th centuries often portray women as mad and irrational beings, thus, espousing the creation of mad women literature. But, modern medicine dispels this “mad” attribute. By establishing that women’s hormones are more sensitive and susceptible to change than that of men, more attention is given to female health. Menstruation, menopause, PMS, and perimenopause - these are all part and parcel of general health topics related to women. Aside from that similarity of being part of female health, these phenomena are due to one thing: hormonal changes. Hormones are fickle, they change with the slightest variation in diets or physical activity. Sometimes even emotional upheavals are enough to make women’s hormones go haywire. Researchers on female health come up with studies on the relationship of female psycho-emotional well-being and their physical health. More often than not, hormones are the established links between this relationship.

Hormonal imbalances are the usual culprits for a number of health disorders in women. Although some of the symptoms are associated with other illnesses, their root remains to be unbalanced hormones. As varied as general health topics are, they range from physical manifestations to psychological and emotional troubles. Physical manifestations of hormonal imbalances include fatigue, weakness, weight gain, weight loss, digestive problems, hot flashes, and joint pain. Other symptoms are more pronounced and less insidious like hair loss and dry skin. Unfortunately, with the demands of career and family life, women often ignore these symptoms as merely due to excess work and overall tiredness. Some attempt to cure their symptoms with remedies and rest that do not work. Hormonal imbalances need medical attention and hormonal supplements to be treated properly. Otherwise, symptoms grow worse with heart palpitations, increased nausea, urinary dysfunction, breast pain, and vaginal dryness. Extreme cases even include changes in menstrual periods with the affected person either suffering from extended periods and bleeding or have total absence of periods.

If the symptoms and conditions above are bad enough, they are just the hormonal imbalances’ physical aspect. Usually cropping up as manifestations of other psychological disorders, the psycho-emotional aspect of these imbalances are often disruptive. There are documented cases wherein afflicted persons confess of being unable to function at their normal level because of the symptoms. Some of the minor symptoms include cravings and mood swings. However, if the symptoms do not receive treatment, they progress to worse conditions like lack of sexual desire, depression, insomnia, and unclear reasoning. It’s no wonder that general health topics and concerns about women often include well-being exercises.

But, these imbalances are not permanent afflictions. With proper diet, exercise, supplements, and counseling, women are able to get their hormones back on track. However, early detection is a key factor in treating hormonal imbalances. It is therefore important not to dismiss the symptoms as just belonging to general health topics or issues. Hormonal imbalances are not just topics — they are real, and they happen to more women everyday.

Lingerie Styles to Suit Your Mood

January 17th, 2008

Who says you need to wear the same lingerie for everyday? Get a
couple wildly different pieces of lingerie depending on what
mood you are in. Colors, styles, cuts - make them all distinct
and see how long it takes for your lover to catch on to how you
feel.

Sexy: Silk, satin, and the bare minimum of cloth needed to leave
some things to the imagination. Teddys and camisoles would be a
great style for this, as would a garter belt combo. Your color
selection would lean towards reds, black, and purples.

Sultry: Going from satin to velvet and furs, you’ll be a perfect
little sex kitten. This mood favors very dark hues such as
maroon, black, and plum, as well as dusty oranges. You will want
lingerie that gives you more coverage, such as a chemise or gown.

Slutty: Brash colors, leather, and latex are the name of this
game. Look as naughty as you dare with a variety of off the wall
styles. Corsets and garter belts are great, and fishnet
stockings work wonders as an accessory. Chains work well too,
and accentuate some of the stranger in leather lingerie designs
(details at http://www.SpicyRelationships.com/lingerie/).

Playful: Pastels and boy shorts are coming your way! Cotton is
the material of choice here, and small camisoles and full
coverage thongs work well for instilling a more playful mood. In
addition to pastels, bold primary colors work well, as do
clashing color combinations.

Teasing: Show but don’t tell. You’ll want cuts of lingerie that
hide as much as they reveal, so that you can drive your lover
crazy with desire. It will be delicious torture as you slowly
slip out of your robe and camisole set, or unhook your garter
from your teddy. Almost any color combination can work well with
this, although cooler colors such as greens, purples, and blues
work best.

Romantic: Soft colors, such as pinks and light blues, would work
with satin, silk, and lace trimmed. Simple patterns work nicely
here, as does small flourishes of accessories. Teddys and
chemises are nice styles for this.

Nostalgic: Relive the great old days by squeezing into a corset
and pretending like you’re at the height of the Victorian era.
Corsets come in a dazzling around of styles and colors, so you’d
be best off just picking one that works for you. Whites and
neutral tones lend to this mood very well.

So next time you are wondering what to wear, just try to match
your mood! It’s fun, at least.

Get Rich - Profit From All Head Knowledge

January 1st, 2008

The beauty experts and even our mothers will still give advice on how to be beautiful. The amount of head knowledge shared on this topic would be responsible equivalent to information overload in a Double Masters.

This information is essential to helping provide a healthy self image in maturing young women. Very often, however, this is not balanced with equally important head information on how to mature into a wise, thoughtful, rich but not prune-faced older woman.

It’s very rare to hear a mother advising a daughter on basic issues like Godly wisdom whilst being respected in this current season. Even she would have been awash with evidence of an imbalance of head knowledge.

If a mistake is made later on the girl is usually awash with a collection of books and tapes from various authors but has no idea who or what to believe.

Having skin deep beauty should be a habit that begins in earlier days with quality from various creams, diet and the usual exercise with primary focus being the often forgotten happy healthy mind. Satisfaction can be an additional benefit gained through sound, sincere shared advice.

Material for this is available in nearly every area, age group and teaching session. If the lady has the wisdom, skills and is still able to write she may be able to make a fortune telling a varied collection of women how to stay gorgeous whilst staring up a home business.

Sucessful Aging

December 21st, 2007

I started thinking about this subject just in December. Oh I had
thought of it before but no really at the intensity I have been
thinking about it lately. I got hurt on the job in December, 04
and it brought to the forfront “What if I could no longer work?”
My doctor told me he thought I should change occupations. I am a
in-home-caregiver for the elderly. It is like the shoemakers
kids that have no shoes. I deal with aging the results and the
planning or lack of planning daily on my job. So I am more aware
of the problems than most people. However, in my own life I had
not done much about planning. I had just frankly been too busy
making a living. I only finished up raising the last of my kids
about ten years ago. I since then bought a house which most
people do in their 20’s and I did too but sold it because I was
a single Mom and it was too much upkeep. I began though with
buying that house to do some financial planning. I had not had
credit in years. My credit scores became very good. I did not
use my credit wisely because even at this late age in life I
knew very little about managing my money. I knew how to survive
as a single Mom and did a pretty good job of raising my children
but I certainly never had a lot of extra money. So financial
planning never really entered the picture. Well, I digress, I
did make some sacrifices to buy this house. I lived in with a
lady for five years and saved the money I would have paid on
rent for a down payment on a house. I have been in this house
since six years. I also have run up a great deal of debt. I have
school loans which I finish my college degree at a very late
date. They are as much as I would have paid for a house a few
years ago. I also have quite a lot of credit card debt which was
just plain living beyond my means. I now have bought a financial
plan that gave me a strick plan to get out of debt and pay off
my house within ten years. This is really the first real
planning I had done as far as aging went. The counselor said to
me what is the payoff for this plan? I just didn’t know. Then I
thought well what I want is to pay off all these debts and my
house. Then next I want to sell my house and find another one in
a less expensive area. I also began a plan of having three
business online. If I could have my own online business which I
could make a good living at then I could work from anywhere. I
have not gone much beyond that. Now I guess my next steps are to
work on the business that I am going to try and build. Continue
with my financial plan to pay off my debts. I also need to get a
funeral plan, a will, a health care directive and write to my
children what I would like done with my personal belongs. I have
come across a site on immortality that I intend to explore
completely. I thought that it was about wanting to live forever
but the more I read of it the more I think it is about quality
of life. I read a lot of other stuff In the Encyclopedia of
Aging, Palmore (1995) says that a comprehensive definition of
successful aging “would combine survival (longevity), health
(lack of disability), and life satisfaction (happiness).” (p.
914). Additionally, some gerontologists have discussed similar
issues using different terms such as “adjustment” or
“adaptation” to aging. A second major theory of aging, referred
to as “activity theory”, proposed that people age most
successfully when they participate in a full round of daily
activities, that is, keep busy (Lemon, Bengtson & Peterson
(1972). This theory seemed to explain the surge of volunteerism
and senior activism in the 1960s and 1970s and may have been
partly responsible for public policies which underwrote the
development of senior centers and other recreational facilities
in that period. Today, the theory has been discarded by
gerontologists who view it as too narrow in its implied advocacy
of one particular lifestyle. Empirical research has demonstrated
the heterogeneity of older people, including many people who
prefer less structured lives or do not have the health or means
to pursue a full schedule of activities. Nevertheless, activity
is widely touted by older adults themselves as the key to
successful aging, so much so that gerontologists have dubbed
this philosophy “the busy ethic” (Ekerdt, 1986). I never liked
this theory why should older adults give away there time. They
are more experienced and better able to mentor. They should in
my opinion be hired as mentors to business. Successful Aging

Aging is something we all have in common. But I truely believe
we can choose a lot of how we age. We can eat right, take
vitamins, exercise our body and our minds. We can grow
spiritually. We can find things that interest us. For me this is
writing and research. I am not very consistant in eating right
and exercising. I don’t know why this is because I am really
motivated to exercise and eat right for a while then I lose my
motivation. I work nights and sometimes I just get really tired
and don’t want to do anything but sleep. But I have that choice
and I know it will effect how I age. We all have done something
for a living for a long while and I have been a caregiver now
for ten years or more but I have been many other things in life
and I have the capacity to work at another profession. It is
just overcoming procrastionation. It is hard to change
somethings don’t fit anymore but we go on doing them anyway. As
I write and research more about this I will let you know how I
do.

Choose Your Own Jewelry Styles

December 18th, 2007

When you want to buy jewelry, you have to choose the one that
can compliment a formal outfit or for daily wear. It is not
cheap to buy one, so think carefully before you decide. If you
make the right decision, that chosen jewelry styles can draw
attention to your best features or possibly camouflage less
desirable areas. Your choice of jewelry style will subtly affect
others perceptions, so what guidelines are there to help you
select the most flattering jewelry?

Earrings:

The main factor when choosing earring is your face shape. Face
shape is important when selecting earrings. Face shapes are
generally grouped as: oval, rectangle, round, heart and square.
Individuals with an oval face shape can wear any style while
other people should look for styles that contrast their face
shape. Selecting a hoop or button style for a round face would
only emphasize the round shape. Square or long shapes will
de-emphasize a round face. The same is true with other face
shapes; a long, rectangular face should stay away from long,
dangling earrings and choose smaller studs instead. Square faces
need the softness of round or hoop earrings and heart shaped
faces are complimented with triangular shapes with a wide base
that contrasts a narrow chin.

Necklace:

Your choice of necklace can minimize or emphasize your size. If
you want to create or emphasize a taller appearance choose
longer necklaces and V shapes. A necklace that falls past the
bustline but above the waist will elongate while a choker style
or shorter U shaped necklace resting on the breast bone will
shorten your appearance.

The size of your necklace should also be considered. Fuller
figures can compliment their proportions with larger, chunkier
pieces that would overwhelm an individual with a smaller frame.

Bracelets and Rings:

Similar guidelines should be followed with bracelets and rings
as with necklace choice. Women of average build and height will
find a wide bracelet most complimentary. Petite women should
look for more delicate pieces and tall or full figured women
should layer several small or wide bracelets, avoiding very
delicate pieces that can look lost.

When selecting rings make sure that the setting doesn’t cover
your knuckle which not only will cause fingers to look short but
can interfere with movement and comfort.

Shorter fingers benefit from oval settings while longer fingers
look best with wide bands or simple, round settings.

What you like and want to own:

While these guidelines may influence the type of jewelry you
select you can be sure that there are many, many choices for all
tastes and occasions regardless of your shape or size.

The above are guidelines. The most important of all is choosing
what you love. It is you who wear them. Even though those chosen
ones are perfect for your face shape and size, you do not like
them.

There is no point to buy. Use your feeling to decide which one
is best for you.

Viagra Overtakes Impotence in a Flash

December 13th, 2007

Impotence or erectile dysfunction in men is a condition signifying his inability to perform a sexual act. The term impotence may also be used to describe other sexual problems such as lack of sexual desire, premature ejaculation or orgasm. Using the term erectile dysfunction makes it clear that those other problems are not involved. Erectile dysfunction (E.D) is related to the hardening of penile arteries which restricts the flow of blood to the penis thus making it unable to achieve or maintain an erection. This sexual dysfunction in men attributes its reasons to various physical and psychological factors. Though initially it was thought to be psychological reasons as the predominant factor for impotence but recent studies show that 70% of E.D cases are as a result of physical complications in men’s health.

Impotence has always been considered as an embarrassment factor by men but social awareness and medical advancement have helped in understanding that it is a disease and a medical condition which is treatable like any other disease. This attitude is strengthened by the advent of prescription drug Viagra, developed for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Viagra, since its approval by the Food and Drug Administration in 1998 have been able to bring back the sexual ability in men using it. And this is mainly due to the presence of its active ingredient - Sildenafil citrate : Sildenafil citrate works by relaxing the penile muscles affected by arteriosclerosis and initiates free flow of blood thus facilitating erection. But it is always advisable to consult a doctor before using Viagra because Sildenafil citrate present in it might cause drug interactions with certain drugs especially nitrate medications like for chest pain or heart problems.

Moreover, you can acquire Viagra information from online sources other than your doctor and the print media regarding dosage, precautions and possible side effects. The popularity and effectiveness of Viagra can be assessed from the increasing number of websites providing Viagra information and the also by the number of people logging in. Viagra can be your companion in making a stronger relationship with your partner. Because when Viagra is your aid, it can competently overcome impotence in a flash and make your love life as beautiful as ever.

Semen - Sperm Taste Improvement Tips

December 7th, 2007

“Consuming pineapple and/or parsley helps sweeten the taste of the male ejaculate. Can there be any truth to this and what other foods affect the taste, for better or for worse?”

Yes, what you eat can influence the taste and smell of your ejaculate. This is something like the smell of your sweat on the next day of a heavily spicy and garlic full dinner.

Because the average ejaculate consists mostly of protein, citric acid, fructose, sodium, chloride and smaller amounts of ammonia, ascorbic acid, acid phosphates, calcium, carbon dioxide, cholesterol, prostaglandins, creatine, and other minerals and chemicals which are produced by the prostate gland, cowpers gland, testicles and many other parts of your body, but shortly by “your body”, and your body can only use its stocks and what you eat as its raw material.

Of course, every body has its own formula to create the semen, but eating less meat (and proteins) and more carbo hydrates, vegetables and fresh fruits may improve the taste and smell. For example parsley is a healthy plant and may also help to make your body juices more sweeter.

In general, dairy products create the foulest tasting fluids, alkaline based foods as meat and fish produce a butter, fish taste. Fruits and quality alcohol are good for a pleasant, sugary flavor. Chemically processed liquors may cause an acidic taste.

As said previously, ejaculate containing sperm has a unique individual taste for each male. Some males have bitter tasting ejaculate, tastes burnt, sour and strong. Other males, primarily vegetarians have ejaculate that generally tastes sweet, nut like. But to produce healthy semen your body will need some protein rich in zinc anyways.

A strong smell may also indicate an infection in genitals and you should urgently visit a gynecologist without losing time in the search of the magic formula!

Of course your body’s duty is not to produce tasty semen, but healthy and productive sperms. Everything healthy and good for your body is healthy and good for your semen. Drink mild water on the morning and keep drinking more water than usual in the day, this will also help your bowels and your body to detoxinate. Eat less meat, more vegetables, drink less alcohol and stop smoking.

Finally, if your partner really loves you she/he must love everything about you. Don’t spend your time to change small details, instead, learn how to be a great lover that nobody is interested with your semen taste/smell.

The same is valid for vaginal secretions, and women have to be careful to improve the taste which is salty and acidic. But women’s problem, mostly, is related to cleanliness, usually they don’t know how to, truly, in and out cleaning process.

We believe that if you really love your partner you won’t be too disturbed even the semen taste is unsupportable, you will find a way to cover this default with condom, flavored lubricant, mouthwash… The question must be how to produce healthy and good quality sperms, and avoid the transmission of many diseases and addictions to future generations!

Does Penis Enlargement, Enhancement, Pills and Tractions Devices Work??

November 4th, 2007

About 18 months ago I received an unsolicited email from a spammer trying to sell a penis enlargement product, this sounded like a dream come true but being the skeptic that I am and going by the theory of “if it sounds to good to be true it probably is” I refused to believe any sort of tablet or pump or traction device could actually make my penis a different size.

After a few days though my curiosity kicked in and I decided to embark on a test to find out whether the so called enlargement products actually produce any results. I started researching the different penis enlargement products available including traction devices, pills/patches and exercise programs and recruited a team of seven friends to test them. Between us we have now tested fifteen of the best selling enlargement product/programs on the net and to our surprise yes some do actually work I must say that not all of the products we have tried worked in fact only four out of the fifteen we tried actually had any effect some of those more successful than others. The results showed that traction devices worked better than any thing else It works by the principle of traction as applied in modern medicine, for the generation of new tissue to cover burn wounds or areas of hair loss or for the lengthening of bones. I bet you are now thinking of the pain… there is none, well a little pressure when first used but no discomfort. Traction devices do have to be worn for sometime before result are seen normally between 2-4 hours a day 5 days a week. After a month you should start to see some great results. The traction system has now been medically proven to work and with continued use over a few months excellent results can be achieved.

So the answer to the question is yes, do be careful though there are a lot of companies trying to sell enlargement products over the net and there are plenty of scams so keep your eyes open and do some research before you buy.

Ian is part of a team who have tried and tested different non surgical penis enlargement products, the full results can be viewed at http://www.penis-enlargement-tried-and-tested.com
